IRAP training partnership

The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) is partnering with organisations in South Australia and the ACT to deliver cyber security assessment training services for Australian business and organisations.

Through arrangements with the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre in South Australia and CIT Solutions Pty Ltd, the ACSC is enhancing cyber security assessment and training through the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP), as well as supporting new careers in cyber for more Australians.

ACSC Head Abigail Bradshaw CSC said the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre and CIT Solutions Pty Ltd will deliver IRAP training from March 2021.

“IRAP training endorses individuals to provide high-quality cyber security assessments to government and industry, providing assurance that ICT systems meet the Australian Government’s cyber security standards,” Ms Bradshaw said.

“The ACSC’s updated IRAP training program supports the Government’s commitment to developing industry capabilities, building a skilled cyber workforce, and helping make Australia the most secure place to connect online.

“This partnership will increase the availability of IRAP training and provide more opportunities for Australians from the private and public sectors to become endorsed IRAP assessors.

“This means more businesses and organisations will be able to access Australian Signals Directorate-endorsed assessors to identify cyber security vulnerabilities, and help implement rigorous Australian Government cyber security standards.”

In December 2020, the ACSC released an updated IRAP policy and new IRAP Assessor Training to strengthen the cyber security assessment framework following an independent review.

The updated IRAP policy and training was co-designed by the ACSC with government and industry representatives.
