The Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD’s ACSC) has just released new guidance on how to mitigate ransomware threats and recover from an incident.

This is a timely reminder that keeping software up to date and having current backups stored off-line is the best way to protect you and your business from a ransomware attack.

Healthcare is a particularly lucrative target for cybercriminals due to the value and quantity of personal data held.

If Australian organisations are infected, they should seek assistance in the first instance from the ASD’s ACSC via 1300 CYBER1. We encourage reporting cyber security incidents to enable the ASD’s ACSC to alert and assist a broader range of organisations, and understand the scope and nature of cyber intrusions.
