Today, we have released the second publication of our quantum technology primer series, focussing on quantum computing.

Sufficiently powerful quantum computers – known as cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQC) – could break classical asymmetric encryption methods that currently protect sensitive data. While a CRQC does not yet exist, rapid advancements in quantum computing are narrowing the window to prepare, making early action crucial to avoid future vulnerabilities.

Potential risks to factor into your organisation’s cyber security plans and posture now may include:

  • cryptographic vulnerability resulting from CRQCs
  • 'harvest now, decrypt later’ attacks
  • supply chain risks
  • cloud application programming interface vulnerabilities
  • lack of expertise and resources.

Make sure your organisation and cyber security provider monitors quantum computing developments, and prepares for post-quantum cryptography to safeguard your data and systems.
